Destiny Solutions Brings the Reduced PCI Scope, Brand Protection and Security of Bluefin’s Validated P2PE Solution to their Higher Education Clients
November 13, 2018 – Atlanta, GA and Toronto, ON – Bluefin, the leading provider of payment security solutions, today announced its partnership with Destiny Solutions, a leader in customer lifecycle management software for higher education. Bluefin will provide its PCI-validated Point-to-Point Encryption (P2PE) solution through the company’s Destiny One platform.
Destiny Solutions’ Destiny One is customer lifecycle management software made specifically for higher education administrators serving non-traditional students. Destiny One integrates with main-campus systems, engages students, optimizes staff efficiency, and provides business intelligence empowering data-driven decisions. Along with Destiny One’s PCI-DSS Service Provider compliance, its customers can now choose to implement Bluefin’s P2PE Encryption solution for added security.
The Bluefin/Destiny Solutions P2PE offering secures credit and debit card transactions by encrypting all data within a PCI-approved point of entry device. This prevents clear-text cardholder data from being available within the device, or in the merchant’s system where exposure to malware is possible. Data decryption always occurs offsite in a Bluefin hardware security module (HSM), ensuring the highest level of security.
“Securing payments in the higher education environment is extremely important, particularly because of the number of different departments that process credit and debit cards – locations from the cafeteria, to the bookstore, to the bursar’s office,” said Greg Cornwell, Head of Bluefin’s Global Sales. “PCI-validated P2PE takes valuable payment data and renders it useless to hackers by encrypting it immediately upon swipe, dip or keying into the terminal. We are very excited that Destiny Solutions has chosen to implement Bluefin’s validated P2PE solution on their Destiny One platform to protect their clients’ payments.”
Bluefin enables PCI-validated P2PE on partner platforms using their Decryptx® Decryption as a Service (DaaS) product, which allows gateways, ISV’s, and processors to connect directly to Bluefin for the P2PE service.
“Administrators are seeking to make their schools more operationally efficient,” said Peter DeVries, President and COO, Destiny Solutions. “We believe that PCI-validated P2PE will bring significant value to our schools by increasing payment security while also decreasing costs thanks to reduced PCI scope, allowing for greater efficiencies and cost savings.”
Benefits of the Bluefin / Destiny Solutions P2PE solution include reducing PCI scope from 329 to a 33-question P2PE self-assessment questionnaire (SAQ), online management of the P2PE device process with Bluefin’s P2PE Manager®, and seamless integration with the Destiny One platform.
