Position Summary:  The Boarding Specialist is a focused individual who be responsible for Operational functions related to new merchant account setups, boarding support and account maintenance requests.  The candidate must be able to work with urgency and accuracy and is able to meet communicated deadlines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Operating within First Data’s Access One system – data entry of new merchant accounts, boarding support or account maintenance requests.
  • Work directly with Processing vendors to create and update accounts.
  • Work boarding related cases – researching within our system to answer internal questions.
  • Work closely and professionally with varying levels of management, clients, staff, this includes communication and written skills.
  • Adapt quickly to alternative and creative solutions.
  • Receive and sort all types of incoming requests: calls and cases.
  • Track work received and completed through the online CRM for all applicable work-related items.
  • Internal on-going training with the roll out of new products, policies and processes.
  • Research and troubleshoot issues for our partners and merchants on both internal and external systems.
  • On-boards PCI Program and the relationship with our vendors as it relates to account set up, merchant status and reporting to processors.
  • Liaisons with Director of Processor Boarding on process improvement and development.
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping marketing and product information confidential.

Education/Experience:

  • High School or equivalent, associates or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a business-related environment, ideally in credit card processing environments
  • Strong knowledge in credit card processing rates and fees
  • Familiarity with credit card devices preferred

Computer Skills:  Advanced computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook and CRM system with the ability to multi-task between programs.
