Nearly 75% of cybersecurity industry leaders have experienced increased burnout, particularly CISOs, in the past year due to the rising pressure and responsibilities associated with increased cyber security threats. Today’s CISOs not only must have technical expertise but also strong leadership skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with non-technical members of the C-suite.
“Your role as CISO is simultaneously growing in complexity and importance. In addition to remaining aware of emerging cyber threats and risk-mitigation strategies, you must also advocate for cybersecurity policies and investments that are in budget and align with the organization’s overarching business objectives, “says Johnson.
Johnson provides four key tips for CISOs to enhance their leadership skills and champion cybersecurity within their organizations, stressing that by prioritizing their own professional development alongside companywide security initiatives, CISOs can effectively defend their organization’s digital assets while fostering a culture of proactive defense.
