Destiny Solutions will provide their Higher Education clients the security, PCI scope reduction and brand protection of P2PE, backed by Bluefin payment processing
September 17, 2019 – Atlanta, GA and Toronto, ON – Bluefin, the leading provider of payment security technologies including PCI-validated Point-to-Point Encryption (P2PE) solutions for retail, hospitality, healthcare, and higher education, has announced a new partnership with Destiny Solutions that will provide users of the Destiny One platform with integrated payment processing capabilities backed by PCI-validated P2PE.
Destiny Solutions’ Destiny One is a student lifecycle management software platform made specifically for higher education administrators serving non-traditional students. Destiny One allows colleges and universities to deliver education across the modern lifelong learning lifecycle, elevates the potential of non-traditional divisions, supports revenue and enrollment growth through an eCommerce enhanced customer experience, secures sensitive data and delivers the agility needed for today’s institutions to be competitive.
Already equipped with best-in-class PCI-DSS compliance, Destiny Solutions customers can now choose to implement Bluefin’s P2PE Encryption solution for added security.
The Bluefin/Destiny Solutions P2PE offering secures credit and debit card transactions by encrypting all data within a PCI-approved point of entry device. This prevents clear-text cardholder data from being available within the device, or in the merchant’s system where exposure to malware is possible. Data decryption always occurs offsite in a Bluefin hardware security module (HSM), ensuring the highest level of security.
This added security is especially valuable for higher education institutions today. Learners increasingly want to engage with their institutions on their own terms—online and when convenient. As a result, more and more data is being transferred and stored virtually, making postsecondary institutions prime targets for hackers. According to IBM, a data breach can cost education institutions in the United States over $8 million.
It’s essential for postsecondary leaders to take every step possible to reduce their risk of breach and strengthen their cybersecurity infrastructure, without sacrificing operational effectiveness or efficiency.
“Leaders want to make their schools more operationally efficient,” said Peter DeVries, President and COO of Destiny Solutions. “PCI-validated P2PE will bring significant value to our partner schools by increasing payment security and decreasing costs thanks to reduced PCI scope, allowing for greater efficiencies and cost savings.”
Through the partnership, Destiny One clients can get PCI-validated P2PE and integrated payment processing using Bluefin’s PayConex payment platform. PayConex integrates directly with Destiny One to process debit and credit payments, as well as provide tokenization and eCommerce and card present payment acceptance.
“Higher education remains a prime hacker target because of the sheer amount of sensitive information contained in records, from social security numbers to payment information,” said Greg Cornwell, Head of Global Sales, Bluefin. “We applaud Destiny Solutions for securing their clients with the gold standard of encryption, PCI-validated P2PE, while providing their base a convenient processing solution.”
