TicketReturn brings the Security, Reduced PCI Compliance and Brand Protection of Validated P2PE to its Box Office Clients
October 30, 2018 – Atlanta, GA and Charlotte, NC – Bluefin, the leading provider of payment security solutions, today announced its partnership with TicketReturn, a leading provider of box office and online ticketing services. Bluefin will provide its PCI-validated Point-to-Point Encryption (P2PE) solution through the TicketReturn platform, allowing TicketReturn clients to process secure credit and debit card transactions.
TicketReturn delivers a powerful suite of venue services with innovative event marketing, access control, attendance reporting, accounting, membership and fundraising features for sports and entertainment venues. TicketReturn serves more than 250 client venues, issuing more than 38 million event admission tickets annually, which ranks it among the top ticketing software/service companies in the U.S. The company is the leading provider of ticketing services to Minor League Baseball (MiLB) in the U.S. and Canada. TicketReturn also partners with universities and performing arts venues across the country.
The Bluefin/TicketReturn solution secures credit and debit card transactions by encrypting all data within a PCI-approved point of entry device. This prevents clear-text cardholder data from being available within the device, or in the merchant’s system where exposure to malware is possible. Data decryption always occurs offsite in a Bluefin hardware security module (HSM), ensuring the highest level of security.
“2017 closed out with a record 1,579 data breaches in the U.S. and over 178 million consumer records compromised,” said Greg Cornwell, Head of Bluefin’s Global Sales. “And if 2017 taught us anything, it is that fraudsters do not care if you are in retail, healthcare, ticketing, or education. You are a target. We are very pleased to partner with TicketReturn to provide the highest level of payment security to their clients with PCI-validated P2PE.”
Bluefin enables PCI-validated P2PE on partner platforms using their Decryptx® Decryption as a Service (DaaS) product, which allows gateways, ISV’s, and processors to connect directly to Bluefin for the P2PE service.
“TicketReturn is excited to partner with Bluefin to provide our clients and their fans peace of mind when processing their credit card transactions,” said Christie Hussey, TicketReturn Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Our partnership with Bluefin will mitigate the risk of data breaches by the use of their PCI validated Point-to-Point Encryption solution.”
For box offices, the benefits of the Bluefin / TicketReturn P2PE solution include reducing PCI scope from 329 to a 33-question P2PE self-assessment questionnaire (SAQ), which provides significant cost and efficiency savings, online management of the P2PE device process with Bluefin’s P2PE Manager®, and seamless integration with the TicketReturn platform.
