Payscout brings the security, reduced cost and brand protection of PCI P2PE through Payscout’s Paywire℠ platform
February 26, 2020 – Atlanta, GA and Sherman Oaks, CA – Bluefin, the leading provider of payment security technologies and PCI-validated point-to-point encryption (P2PE) solutions for retail, hospitality, healthcare, and higher education today announced its partnership with global payment processing provider, Payscout, to provide PCI-validated P2PE through the company’s Paywire℠ technology platform.
Payscout is one of the fastest-growing, privately held global payment processors in the world, providing profitable payment solutions for brick-and-mortar and ecommerce transactions in the United States, Brazil, Canada, China, and the European Union. The company specializes in online/ecommerce retailers with a predominant proportion of card-not-present (CNP) transactions. The company’s Paywire℠ technology platform is built to optimize conversions, enable more payment methods, increase approval rates, and lower friction for customer payments.
Payscout has partnered with Bluefin to provide PCI-validated P2PE solution directly through the Paywire℠ gateway. PCI P2PE secures credit and debit card transactions by encrypting all data within a PCI-approved point of entry device. This prevents clear-text cardholder data from being available within the device, or in the merchant’s system where exposure to malware is possible. Data decryption always occurs offsite in a Bluefin hardware security module (HSM), ensuring the highest level of security.
“Encryption is a ‘must-have’ technology in any payments environment, but especially in healthcare and higher education,” said Payscout Head of Technology Eric Schuler. “When we’re talking to our customers about optimizing conversions and adding new payment methods, it is essential that all of these solutions are underpinned by a PCI-validated P2PE solution. With this partnership, we’re meeting and exceeding customer demand by ensuring every relevant point of data entry in the payments ecosystem is encrypted and secure.”
Bluefin enables PCI-validated P2PE on partner platforms using their Decryptx® Decryption as a Service (DaaS) product, which allows gateways, ISV’s, and processors to connect directly to Bluefin for the P2PE service.
“Payscout is a leader in providing global payment and security solutions to many industries that have suffered major data breaches, including retail, higher education, and healthcare,” said Greg Cornwell, Chief Revenue Officer, Bluefin. “With the introduction of Paywire℠, these industries now have a comprehensive security solution that can protect their POS operations. We are excited to provide the benefits of our validated P2PE solution to Payscout clients.”
The benefits of the Bluefin and Payscout P2PE solution include reducing PCI scope from 329 to 33 questions on the P2PE self-assessment questionnaire (SAQ), which in turn provides significant cost and efficiency savings; online management of the P2PE device process with Bluefin’s P2PE Manager®; and seamless integration with the Payscout platform utilizing the P2PE-validated ID Tech SREDKey 2, Ingenico iSMP4 and Ingenico iPP320/350 payment terminals.
