The new PCI-validated P2PE solution leverages Bluefin’s Decryptx platform and SoftPoint’s Datapoint mobile application
August 29, 2018 – Atlanta, GA and Scottsdale, AZ – Bluefin, the leader in payment security, today announced a partnership with SoftPoint, a leader in software and services for the hospitality industry, to provide Bluefin’s PCI-validated Point-to-Point Encryption (P2PE) solution through SoftPoint’s Datapoint mobile application.
SoftPoint offers a fully integrated hospitality management system that is designed to enhance Restaurant, Retail, and Hotel activities. SoftPoint uses cutting edge technology, smart terminals, and innovation that results in solutions that streamline merchant operations, reduce processing cost, eliminate fraudulent charge backs and now, with the integration to Bluefin, reduces risk, providing merchant customers with a better overall experience.
Bluefin enables PCI-validated P2PE on partner platforms with their Decryptx® Decryption as a Service (DaaS) product, which allows gateways, applications, and processors to directly connect to Bluefin for the P2PE service. Together, the companies can now offer a joint solution that provides Bluefin’s PCI-validated P2PE product on a mobile payment terminal that can transmit data to various POS platforms, such as NCR Aloha, Micros and PosiTouch to name a few.
Leveraging Bluefin’s Decryptx platform, SoftPoint gateway, and SoftPoint’s DataPoint mobile application, the joint solution is the first fully integrated payment solution for any legacy or cloud based point of sale system offering PCI-validated P2PE. In addition to NCR Aloha, SoftPoint supports a number of major POS platforms including Brink, Dinerware, Focus, Maitre’D, MICROS, POSitouch, Squirrel, Aireus, XPIENT and in the next quarter, many popular Property Management Systems like Opera.
“We are very excited to partner with SoftPoint, as this new solution will allow users of many major POS platforms to now seamlessly adopt our PCI-validated P2PE solution, with absolutely no change to their current payment and software integration flow,” said Greg Cornwell, Head of Global Sales, Bluefin. “The partnership opens up the possibility of PCI-validated P2PE to POS platforms that currently have no access to this solution.”
Bluefin’s PCI-validated P2PE solution secures credit and debit card transactions by encrypting all data within a PCI-approved point of entry device, preventing clear-text cardholder data from being available in the device or the merchant’s system where it could be exposed to malware. Data decryption is only done offsite in a Bluefin hardware security module (HSM).
“Over the last 2 years we have done an extensive search into the marketspace – not only in terms of product and offering but true interconnectivity and support,” said Christian Rivadalla Jr, Co-CEO, SoftPoint. “Our research clearly showed that there was no group more knowledgeable nor a product more secure in the market than Bluefin’s PCI-validated P2PE solution.”
