This spring, we decided on a whim to apply for Inc. magazine’s list of the 5000 fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. We were “newbies,” or first-time applicants, and knew little about the process, except that we needed to provide company information and revenue numbers.
It wasn’t until mid-summer, when the phone calls started rolling in from Inc. reporters and assistants, that we realized not only had we made the list, we were actually in the top 10 of the fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. thanks to our almost 12,000% company growth from 2008 to 2011. We didn’t find out our actual placement until a week before the magazine was published – we were #6.
Really – how often do companies get this kind of honor? So my CEO and I headed to Arizona in mid-October to attend the Inc. 5000 honoree conference. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience, not only for the fantastic speakers, agenda and social events, but also for meeting like-minded, driven, highly successful entrepreneurs.
