This is why more and more software providers and payment processors are adding developer portals, also called a “dev portal”, to their mix of technology and support resources.
A key component of any software integration ecosystem, a developer portal connects API (Application Programming Interface) designers to the consumers of the solution by providing powerful resources, including step-by-step guides, sample code, API references, and the ability to access live support from a team of integration experts.
In late 2021, Bluefin launched our new developer portal to provide seamless integration to our payment and data security platforms. We recently expanded our repository of integration guides and API references to make it easy to build a solution on any of our platforms, while also extending support for all members of the development ecosystem like Quality Assurance and Project Managers.
Since last year’s update, Bluefin has been working on enhancements to make integrations that much simpler, including new documentation, simplified navigation, and detailed release notes for Payconex™, Decryptx® ShieldConex® and the P2PE Manager®.
Bluefin Products – What’s Covered in the Dev Portal?
- PayConex™ offers omnichannel payment processing and online financial data security solutions backed by the highest level of security, including PCI-validated point-to-point encryption (P2PE) for point-of-sale (POS) payments, ShieldConex® for encrypted tokenization of online PII, PHI, and payment and ACH account data.
- Decryptx® enables processors, payment gateways and software platforms globally to connect to Bluefin and offer our P2PE solution direct to their clients. Bluefin is the only validated solution provider that provides P2PE as a service that is decoupled from payment processing.
- ShieldConex® utilizes both hardware-based encryption and vaultless tokenization to secure Personally Identifiable Information (PII), Protected Health Information (PHI), cardholder data (CHD) and ACH account data entered online. ShieldConex immediately masks sensitive data upon entry through Bluefin’s iFrame or API’s, ensuring that it never travels through a system or network as clear-text, where it could be accessible in the event of a data breach. Clients can leverage format-preserving encryption (FPE), format-preserving tokenization (FPT) or a combination of both with ShieldConex.
- P2PE Manager® is Bluefin’s 100% online portal for chain of custody, device management and the PCI P2PE attestation. Monitor the complete lifecycle of every payment device, from key injection, to shipping, to receipt, while generating chain of custody reports, upload attestations and report on future attestations.
New Guides
We never lose sight of the fundamentals. The most recent version of the dev portal includes both updates to existing documentation as well as some brand-new guides. Some of our new guides include PayConex’s Apple Pay and Google Pay integration guide, as well as our newest anti-fraud tool, Real-Time ACH Account Verification.
Improved Navigation
Gone are the days of sifting through irrelevant guides. PayConex, Decryptx and ShieldConex are now hosted in their own sections of our developer portal. If you want to focus on payments, we won’t be bothering you with the details of how to include encryption or tokenization and vice versa. We know that our platforms work in harmony too, so our native search function can help you find guides across all 3 platforms so it’s easy to change gears when you need to.
Release Notes
Integrating to a software solution means maintaining that integration. While we seldom make changes to the back-end code for stability purposes, you can now find release notes on all relevant updates to PayConex, Decryptx and ShieldConex — both front-end and back-end — in one place.
